Planning is very important to get a great timelapse shot. I always do recce beforehand and with a help of an mobile app, I can see where the sun,moon and milkyway rises or sets. My motion control kit can add a nice taste to timelapses. My FX6 with built-in ND filters work nicely but I am very used to DSLR or mirrorless cameras as well.
